Tis the season

It’s December, and for us as a band that means the busiest time of the year since we have no fewer than ten concerts this month. Often people comment on the craziness of such a schedule, but for me, more than anything else, it’s one of the most meaningful ways to celebrate Christmas. I love playing in the freezing cold at the tree lighting in Glen Allen and watching kids’ faces light up when the gigantic tree finally gets lit, I love singing Christmas carols with the guests at MCV’s Hospital Hospitality House, knowing that the 15 or so people in that dining room are all facing hardships that make Christmas perhaps a little harder to face this year, and I love singing Silent Night under the legendary Christmas tree a The Jefferson Hotel. More than anything, our December concerts draw my attention back to celebrating the birth of Jesus and the amazing grace that His birth unleashed on this earth, and on our lives.

  1. I’m glad we we’re adding some new Christmas arrangements too. The Christmas CD, Comfort and Joy is great, but now we can add some depth, and hopefully spread a bit more Christmas blessings.
